Shadows are all around me as I walk down the streets,
I look behind me thinking I heard the sounds of approaching feets, I think someone is going to appear from around the corners, They are on buildings short and long,
By windows blaring different songs, I wonder what could be behind the shadow of a tree,
Shadows are imprints that are always there and never free.

How I wish them to be drain away,
They stain my soul and make me hate,
I wish i could make a mental gate to block it from view,
But I thought having deep emotions was something good and people knew,

But I know they are something I can’t escape.
